What is Nutritional Therapy?
As individuals, we each have our own biochemical individuality and this can be reflected in our health, mood, sleep and energy levels. Nutritional Therapy goes beyond the basics of healthy eating and focuses on finding and addressing the root causes of individual imbalances. This is done by understanding how and why your health has gone wrong or out of balance and addresses the factors which contribute to these health problems. It is not just treating the symptoms! With Nutritional Therapy, I help you to take control of your diet and to encourage the body’s natural ability of healing through optimal nutrition and lifestyle changes.
In my clinic I focus on an individualised and science-based approach to health.
This is done by encouraging small and gradual changes in diet and lifestyle to improve overall well-being. This is why I utilise a Functional Medicine approach.
This approach concentrates on understanding why an illness occurs and restores health by addressing the root cause of disease. This is done through low-risk interventions and support of cellular systems to help limit the drivers involved in disease progression.
The Functional Medicine Model allows me to assess the whole person including their genetic predispositions, environment, diet, lifestyle, stress, sleep habits and personal support networks.
With Nutritional Therapy, I can help to support the following areas:
- General health disorders
- Low energy, fatigue
- Poor sleep
- Mental health – depression, anxiety
- Hormonal imbalances
